PHP 4 or 5?
What php version are you using? Which do you prefer? Why do you prefer?
Personally I use PHP5 becuase the last release of Mediawiki works only with PHP 5.x. |

I'm ok with both but I prefer php 5.x Because that's the future and php.net has already stopped supporting it. So its better move to php 5 if you are still using php 4.x.

PHP 4.x now does not have any official support so switching to 5.x version is good idea but perhaps its completely upto hosts for using any version of php and most are php4....any way to change to php 5 without requesting hosts?

I always use PHP 5.x, other than official support for PHP 5.X, it also have more coding flexibility than PHP 4.x.
Well as stated above it also depends on hosts, but now a days many host offer php 5.x |
