It is safer to register your domain at godaddy or namecheap then host it in another site for your safety.

I think most people do this they get their name from some other website and buy webspace from some other website.They have to wait for 2 to 3 days,but most of people use this way to run their website.

I prefer registering my domain name separate from my hosting. Just to be n the safe side in case my hosts decides to do something funny.

I always get a free domain from www.namepros.com its easy and free. I just got another domain yesterday.
And about hosting, i get an awesome hosting from my friend. |

Great advice. But I would also recommend that you buy domains on other registrars because they are usually cheaper then with hosting companies.
