Server Uptime 99.9?

I want to ask stupid question waht is uptime :S (shame on me) i haven't knew it wanted to find out but forgot ( dont flame plz :P )

uptime is the time which your hosting or your server online.

Or you can think easily is online time of hosting

Would seem to me that number always meant that while we guarantee it (and will give you credit if it goes under that), it doesn't mean that it won't. After all, in the world of the internet every site (including the big huge sites) experience downtime from time to time due to hardware failures etc, DNS problems, etc.

Good points here, but as this is really the industry standard - is it really an effective part of the sales message?

For some reason it reminds me of when cars first came out with factory installed AM/FM radios - it was a selling point then, but now it is expected and, therefor, not mentioned in the sales pitch.

Just a thought, but yes 99.9% uptime is possible.

Yeah 99% isn't much of a stretch.Down for a minute a day would still be 99%
its difficult to achieve because hardware and software is much more reliable nowadays.

they say the server is all the time up, it's isn't posible.. but what you can do? if the review about the company is good, you can buy from them.
