Vbulletin or phpBB

Past experience, vb is the best choice for a full forum development. If your site is not geared towards strictly a forum, that phpbb (free option) would be the best bet.

I'd choose vBulletin because i've heard that it is one of the best administration program.

I'd use vBulletin for my serious sites because it's more reliable than phpbb. On the other hand phpbb is free and so I use it for my new forums to see how things go.

I would say Vbulletin is a really reliable tool.

I have always went with PhpBB and hated vB. In my opinion, PhpBB 3 will soon kick vB's sales quite a lot Just wait a few months after PhpBB 3's final release.

I don't think PHPBB can match with Vbulletin even though phpBB is free. But things might change when phpbb 3 comes out of beta.

vBulletin is really better.

Vbulletin is better than PhpBB and also one of the best forum scripts. The only downside I see is the high price. On the other hand PhpBB is free and with all the mod available it churns out to be a great open source script.
