how long it takes to receive money from cheque in your country?

For me it takes a very long time.
Firstly it is about two weeks while I get it in my mailbox.
And in a bank it takes about month while I get money in my bank account.

I am from Romania, and I face the same problem with cashing in my checks. There is about a 2 weeks delay in receiving the mailed check - let's say from the United States.

Then, when I go to the my bank to cash in the check, I to wait once again somewhere from 2 weeks to a month for the check to be verified and to get my money.

This is a common problem in Europe, as Europeans don't really checks as a payment methods.

Where is available I prefer to get my money via bank wire. It does costs more than receiving via check, but in 3-5 days you got your money.

I am asking for my money only when a larger sum of money is gathered. I ask for my money only when it is above $200.

This is the solution that I found for the checks.
