Google Analytics

I'm thinking of trying google analytics but i have some reservations.

should i be trusting google with my websites states ?

why shouldn't you?
why should you trust other websites?
millions of people trust Google with their stats, Adsense, Adwords, Gmail....

almost all my sites have 2 stats programs ; Awstats and Analytics
one often shows info that the other one doesn't and vis versa

Analytics also gives you live stats which many others don't...
this is important for me.

give it a try, if you don't like it, then remove the code

hi guys.....I have an alternative to Google Analytics which I like it a lot. Its called Hitslink. Super robust reporting, but a much expensive. Urchin is good, but its not in real time. Fireclick is awesome but more expensive than hitslink.

i don't see why i should be paying for stats.
google gives a good service for completely free...

I don't see any reason on why you need to have reserved feelings about using Analytics. If you notice carefully, there are certainly a lot of features which are useful like source of traffic, keywords which the visitors found your site...
