Advise about new computer

Im planning to buy a new computer.
I bought a Pentium D 3.0Ghz 2 months ago but IM not totally happy with My new Pc.

I would like to buy a computer which let me use 10 msn messenger at same time and streaming using winamp.

You think a pentium core 2 will better than my actuall pentium D

A dual core processor would certainly make things go faster if you do a lot of multitasking.

Actually pentium core 2 extreme ( quad processor) is one of the best chips.
I have to think well about how much money Im willing to spend.
a core 2 extreme processor is round $1000

If i were you i would go for the amd64.
