Default Maximum ads or fewer?

I read a few months ago that the best way to maximize your Adsense profits was to use the maximum number of ads allowed per page. Who follows this guideline, and do you think it works? Or do you think it puts off the site visitors?

I think it's personally better to put well placed ads rather than a lot, a lot doesn't mean they'll click on them necessarily.

I try to put couple of ad units but in a better way so that the website doesn't look like a MFA website. If there are too many ads, the visitor is also annoyed.

Too many ads seriously puts off visitors. I think AdSense are too generous with the number of ads they permit per page, giving an incentive for publishers to use their full entitlement. Better placed ads wins over crammed ads every time.

I believe in the Adsense TOS you are allowed p to 3 link units and 3 ad boxes per page. Monetizing that should be fine as long as you keep up with "G"'s guidelines.

It really depends, I would recommend placing well-blended ads that fit in with your site well. Having too many ads on your site can sometimes make the site look bad

Remember: Quality not Quantity. I would rather have a few very optimized ads in well placed positions than a couple cheap ones which make 1 cent a year.

In my opinion it depends on the website. On some you can get away with cramming ads just about everywhere but on others it doesn't look so good and scares away visitors.

Yes, I'd agree-it really depends on the website and you as the webmaster. But if you are using the 3 units/page, do make sure that you space them out.
