Is it worth submitting to directories to get back links anymore? There are so many directories to submit to now.

Well i don't think you can't get a high value out of them since you never get directly related links but still every penny counts. so why not ? lol

After the google's recent spat to those who sold text links and the directories which sold links to be placed in their site, i feel that it has become irrevelant to get submitted in directories, but I do feel that google will not penalize if the directories offer free links. I guess.

Yup I still do up to now. I really believe directories do have value when it comes to backlinks, traffic not so much but it's expected since no one really visits directories looking for sites, they use Google or Yahoo for that.

Its better to have backlinks so google can recognize ur link easily and Link popularity also increases ...
