where all the domain name servers are kept

Hi,
Can anybody refer me to the website or page which give me the information that where are all servers which holds dns records of the domains are kept. So that i can know the ip address of that servers and it turn wants to know who controls them. These servers may be spread across the world and so not a single company or country can't own them. So the big question, who all these servers coordinate to provide a unique domain.
