I have joined Orkut too but Still i haven't really got used to it. Its little different from Myspece though the basics are same.

Orkut, which is owned by Google is the #1 free friend finder community. And yes, it's way more better than Facebook, in my opinion. I joined Orkut 3 months ago and found a total of 19 friends from India. That community is really helping me find my old/lost friends, as well as my old relatives.

Maybe now it will grow faster since they have come out of beta stage.When I got my membership , it was so hard to get in coz it was all invitation based.

I wouldn't recommend Orkut to anybody. Back in the days when you had to get invited to use the service, I invited this complete stranger. I don't know how this happened but he was able to sign up with the address I used to invite him on. I think it's because his account was somehow confirmed without having to use the email link (which was sent to my address). I then tried contacting Orkut, telling them to cancel his Orkut account because he signed up with the same email I was using and they ignored me.

I then decided to cancel my account and then several months later I came across this story about Orkut being hacked into! I'd never trust a site if it was successfully hacked into...

I have also joined ORKUT and its a very good medium between friends to share their feelings. You can search your old friends and can make new ones.You can join communities too. You will meet your old pals on Orkut, whom you have not met for a long time and remember that wonderful time spent together. It acts as a bridge between them.

orkut is a good social networking website,we can meet lot of old friends there and we can also make bundle of new friends.
