HTML is actually not programming. I think it's just coding. Of course, PHP will have my vote here.

Well dont you need HTML for PHP? i mean PHP just translates the code and makes it HTML. right? I love PHP.

aglocohost is right. a PHP site (Im not talking about a scripted site) is mostly HTML.

The great thing about using php is that you can use includes. For example if you use a PHP include for your footer you will be able to make changes to the footers on all of your pages by changing only one file. Lets say you want to change the links in your footer, or you want to update the copyright notice or something like that. With straight HTML you will need to edit eahc page individually. This can be quite a chore if you have hundreds of pages! But with an include just change one file.

There are many other uses for PHP, this is just one example of how handy it can be.

PHP provides dynamism and intearctivit to your site. It provides a link to a database so you can store information. HTML is helpful because it provides the necessary interface for PHP scripts.

lol, what others said, html is just there, codes, php is really programming and scripts, i prefer php scripts, but html for designs and whatnot lol, you cant do that with php, can u?

PHP and HTML coexist. HTML makes the face of programs made in PHP. Without HTML, PHP programs are mere lines of codes and no interface with users.

they go hand in hand, but lately I have done a lot of work in php so I prefer working with it than html, but that doesnt mean I don't use html
