Torrent Tutorial

I know this isnt to do with web hosting, but i believe we could stop the spread of the common virus from peer to peer and peer to server by eliminating programmes such as LimeWire and Kazaa by learning how to use torrent programmes.

Maybe this would be more helpfull if it actually showed people how to use torrents on their site.

But by the sound of this article...it sounds like they are using torrents for illegal purposes....

Torrents can be great to save on bandwidth and the load that your server has...For example if you develop free open source software (such as a linux distro that is really large) it is a lot easier on the server if it is done through a torrent.

But I don't know how to set it up so that you can do torrents on your server.

Many artists promote the sharing of their music. Its the labels who are against it. And besides, in canada nobody has been charged to date.

Still....so many people use torrents for illegal purposes that it is giving them a bad name....

Really the idea is a great one...if it was used legally all the time. Because I have seen sites where they have been featured on digg....and they had some free software download that totally brought the site down...Yet other sites will have their free software download on a torrent so that their site stays up.

True and im not dissagreeing with you, but you have to remember why media torrents are "illegal". Does it make sense to outlaw something like sharing? No, not at all. The people who make it illegal are the people bennifiting financially from it. I understand these people have to make money too, but i dont ever remember being able to download a live concert in the front row torrent.

I also use Torrents instead of Limewire because I think torrents are safe. I basically download softwares and sell full copies online for a very cheap rate. If you would like to download torrents fast, try using uTorrent. It's one of the top Torrent Clients out there.

Unless you live in a country where that is legal, I highly recomend using it for lawful purposes.
