Default How to by the best one?

First Off what best describes your business lets say you're selling

model toys???

first thought that comes to mind is
modeltoys.com
Im sure that's taken so try
modeltoy.com

Or anythin relating to model toys or toy models. try staying away from just models as that can refer to human models.

The closer it is to what you're selling the more likely the name is to be remembered. be sure it no more than 2 short words too. One word is best.

Try looking for keywords through this http://inventory.overture.com/d/sea...ory/suggestion/

It's the most searched words through yahoo search engine for your type of site.

Nice first steps for a beginner...
Could be extended with suggestions about tld.
Always take the .com (in addition to other if you want) if it is available.

I would like to add that domain buyers should also look in the thesaurus to find similar words if the domain that they want is already taken.

Are you sure that if the plural is taken, you'll be allowed to take the singular? First of all, many owner if they want to иту on the safe side register both forms, sometimes they even buy those with typos, but even if the singular isn't officially registered, you won't be able to take it.

Well try and get your company name there. Lets say it was Toys r' us, try something like this: www.toys-r-us-toymodels.com or www.toy-toymodels.com not too good at that stuff, look at other domain names and try to combine them into a better sounding one.
