Can someone please tell me why .info domains are available for so less and you have to pay a good price to buy .com domains? What makes so much difference as both are domain names?

.com is much more popular, thats why they are expensive. However, .info is not very popular so they have dropped the price to attract people.

Most ppl think .com is a 'universal' domain, but .com stands for .commercial .
Probably 75% of the .com sites aint commercial ^^

And .cc or .mobi or .tv is even more costly (like $25/year)

Only reason is that .info has one year promotional price after the first years you have to pay same price you have to pay for a .com or .net.

.com is most pop gtld. And .info is not most. So,the owner of .info gtld want to get .info more pop. Then the reg fee of .info is cheaper than .com,but please notice,it just for first year. Then renew fee of .info is not cheaper than .com.

I am not so sure of this but I've heard that .info domains are bad for SEO and search engines give lower rankings to .info domains.
