Subdomains

Subdomains can be created easily using cPanel.

Once subdomains are added, users can 'Setup Redirect' - it allows users to setup another link for the subdomain to direct users. This is useful if user wants a short URL to something that has a long URL, or pass to some other websites.

Users may remove redirection or delete the subdomain of course.

Subdomains can be setup to use ftp and email address as well.

I have a question... I got this server where i just create a folder then it became a subdomain automatically.

Why is that?

Because in reality all sub-domains are are folders under the same domain. I was setting up a copy of vbulletin today and I wanted to install it in the forums directory. For the sake of ease, I just used the cpanel functionality mentioned above, and created the forums subdomain. It made the directory for me, and now you can get to at either forums.fakedomainname.com or fakedomainname.com/forums

They both go to the same place.

Not necessarily. Sub-domains rely on the dns system so you can point them to other web hosts as well.

@d3v : exactly, the forwarding file is still located in the folder. the subdomain is still a folder.
