before you choose a shared host you should know the following this
1- Dont go to hosting review site. they are affiliate of host that they promote by giving high rated reviews. 2-dont lookup for too much space 5 gb is more than enough in most cases. you can create bigger site than www.freehostforum.com with this amount of space. 3-dont look for bandwidth more than 400gb. hosts are offering 3000gb what they cannot commit to. they ban you for some other reason if you reach that level. 4- know datacenter of server. it should be near to the visitors that you are targetting 5-dont go to google to search "web hosting" just see user reviews in forums like www.freehostforum.com and webhosting-talk.com |

Nice tips. I also don't trust review sites because they are likely to be on the hosting company's payroll. Hosting forums like this one is a great place to get real good feedback about hosting sites.

Thanks for sharing these tips, I have to agree with all of them other than the first one. Unless there are comments by other users, then its safe.

Thanks! This is good info but I could'nt understand "4- know datacenter of server. it should be near to the visitors that you are targetting" - by this do you mean the place where the server is physically set up?

Great informative post. I know that many people when they first get into buying hosting go off exactly what you said not to go off. I hope this sheds light on people.

You mean that there is less chance that at these forums someone would promote or would be the affiliate of a Wrong hosting company, right?!But still there probably is a chance for that too, even here. Is there may be something like "better business bureau" for these NET Businesses? For those that do not leave in USA I'll explain: "better business bureau" is a government organization (if i'm not mistaken), that people report "bad" businesses to. If someone was lied to, or had any type of bad experience with them.
