Please provide here the various marketing methods for promoting a website.

3. Social Bookmarking
4. Forum signatures

Any other effective tools?

Yes certainly forum signature is one way as I have just used this option for promoting and marketing of my site. But I think you can use PTC and PTR and traffic exchange sites. You can user banner advertisements. Link exchange is one way.

Article marketing has gotten a bad rap lately, but believe me - it is nowhere near being at the end of its effectivieness. I am a writer, and when I promote using articles, there is always a noticeable increase in response.

The nice thing about article marketing is that anyone who clicks on your link at the end of your article thinks you are an expert, and wants to know more. If they don't think you are an expert, they won't click, and probably wouldn't buy anyway.

A marketing tool, I personally like is stumbleupon.

If you use stumbleupon, and get 50 or so stumbles you can get a couple of thousand visitors within a few hours.

But, like you said above forum sigs are good.
