Re: The .eu question

Here are from europeregistry about .eu
Quote:
Who can register a .eu?

To register a .eu domain name you must be one of the following:

1. Undertakings having their registered office, central administration or principal place of business within the European Community; or
2. organisations established within the European Community without prejudice to the application of national law; or
3. natural persons resident within the European Community.

Proof of your trade mark(s), company names and personal names will be required before registration, and priority is given on a first-come, first-served basis.
How much will a .eu cost?

Pre-registering a .eu domain name with Europe Registry is free. This does not give you any rights to the domain name, but places you in a queue - ready for when the .eu domain is launched in late 2005. Accurate pricing information for complete .eu registration is not yet available, but as the launch date comes closer, those on the pre-registration list will be contacted with our prices. You can then choose to either continue or cancel the registration.

We intend to be a low cost provider of .eu domain names, and will not charge any extra fees for delegations or name servers modifications. There will be a set-up fee for sunrise applications due to the extra handling required to verify trade marks and company incorporations.
Schedule

There will be 2 Sunrise periods of 2 months each, prior to the full opening of the .eu domain name. Sunrise 1 is scheduled to commence 4th quarter 2005, with sunrise 2 following 2 months later. Immediately following the sunrise period, registration will be on a first come first served basis, providing the eligibility criteria above are met. During the Sunrise period, the ‘.eu’ name must exactly match the trademark, company or individual names.

Sunrise 1

* European Community trade mark owners.
* EU member state trade mark owners (includes all trade marks registered in any of the EU member states.

Sunrise 2

* European registered companies
* European individuals

From another site, i read the price will be 18 euro
