SEO Friendly URLs

If you are using PHpLD script, do you prefer SEO friendly URLs (like used on my web directory or do you like them as original ones (.php?catid etc. )?

I like them better when they are SEO friendly, and so do search engines. I'd recommend to have them SEO Friendly.

how do they make the normal url to search engine friendly url such as http://www.planstudyabroad.com

I don't think Seo friendly urls matter much in a directory. The main reason being there are not any visitors from search engines to the directories. I may be wrong because I do not own one. But still, the main point of directories is their PR, which will be better only with backlinks.

A SEO Friendly directory has URLs like this

xyz.com/Internet/Directories/Free

while a non SEO friendly URL is

xyz.com/view.php?catid=55&subcatid=44

Thats the basic difference.
