I haven't put a whole lot of time into it (obviously). Just curious what could be easily improved about it.

there's a lot of improvement you can make. Starting of with the text color. Best preferred black. Using common fonts like arial or tahoma. Maybe you could get a template for your site design.

the idea of the site is good but as ramfir sai you can improve a lot

somethings that u can do for your site :

get a good template or ask someone to design a template so it can fit ur idea.

use common text fonts like arial or if u get a template or have some font that suits the design use that font.

also be carefull with the text colour that u use..
