I don't see a difference, still you have to buy space fo backup to be stored. maybe it might cost less since you wouldn't need much features.

Look up on Hotscripts.com under PHP and Backup Management. I'm sure there is probably a script there that will suit your needs. Putting it into a cron task isn't very difficult. Some of the scripts may even be written to just that.
