Torrent Tracker?

What type of sever should I buy ,If I want to run a torrent tracker?
Will a shared account be sufficient?
Does a torrent tracker use too much resources?
Which torrent tracker should I use?

Please help.

Also tell me what precautions I should before buying a server to run a torrent tracker.

I don't think normal hosting provider would happy to let host anything related to torrents. even if you don't keep the softwares just trackers. maybe those offshore hosting solutions would be the best choice.

I agree with puffin. You would basically be hosting a gateway to warez. I would just contact some hosting sites (Nothing on that top 10 list) and see if they would let you do it. Dont spend money and screwed in the long run.

I think you should ask some of the torrent sites owners what hosting service do they use. If they are smart enough they won't tell you, but keep trying and you'll find out soon enough.

As you said they will not tell you. As for where to host. I think your best bet is to find someone on a forum that offers hosting and talk to them. Or like I said earlier as some companies.
