I would go for asp as few peoples are specialized in it and there's less case asp pages getting hackes because only less people know about the coding in asp. As for Php it's popular but vulnerable too because everyone almost all are specialized in Php

Of course PHP, because all scripts you want are written with php and all hosting companies supports it and because it works on all os's and there is no need that your server to be run on windows to use the scripts.

PHP is so much better. Unfortunatly where I work, I have to use ASP for one of their websites. I'm slowly rebuilding the sites in PHP. I loath ASP.

Like all Microsoft things asp also requires a lot to work properly. php is really easy to use and modify. I always use php and never tried asp.

asp continues to gain ground over the market in leaps and bounds.
So from a proffessional longer term perspective I would think asp. Then again I am biased.

I like using PHP as most of the web hosting companies support it and you can get a lot of free scripts written in PHP.

i think that php in many fields is better than asp but when we come
around security or rapidity asp takes the advantage so it depends
on your needs

I would also say .php because its fun, easy, and theres unlimited possibilities when wanting to design a script.

PHP is my choice. Easy to learn, its free, Almost all web servers have it. You can find plenty of resource around the net. Most of free web scripts are done by php.
