Unlimited Space?

Why are there so many hosts now that are offering unlimited resources? everyone should know that there isn't such thing as unlimited hosting resources

Obviously they offer free hosting to attract customers . But once their servers run out of space and their bandwidth is reached they can't offer more than that. I guess they don't think their customers will use much space/bandwidth.

The main reason ofcourse is to attract costumers plus they don't think every costumer they get will use all his bandwitch and thats way they are saying that.

That is merely a promotional gimmick. See we can't offer such things forever it would not be good for business. And don't rely to much if those kinds of ads because i never believed in unlimlited resources.

They are doing that as a sort of marketing gimmick. We all know that unlimited hosting is not really possible except maybe on your own server.

What happens if a customer on purpose uses all their bandwidth so they get what they deserve

this wil not happen because if he uses high bandwidth they will just suppend his account saying that he violate something from the small letters of their tos.

It is like yahoo mail, most users didn't even use 15 mb, but now they offer 'unlimited'.

Be careful, most 'unlimiteds' are scams. Or they have impossible resticting TOS laws.

unlimited bandwidth and unlimited space is for marketing purposes only well really dont believe on this kind of gimick

I guess it is possible to have enough space and bandwidth so it wouldn't become an issue. Though if they get enough users so it becomes a problem, they will no longer have that offer.

Yea simsily is right my website is only like 17 megabites i think last time i looked at it. The free website hosting gives you like 50GB witch is more then i will probly ever need.

if i saw a pay host that offers unlimited bandwith. i would avoid it at all cost. why? because once you bought it and you use too much of bandwith, for sure they will try to find every way to kick you out of their server.

Another question, how do you get bandwidth exactly? Isn't bandwidth from your internet provider? Wouldn't it be unlimited?

It's just a way of marketing
Of course, no host would give you that unlimited space/bandwidth and in most cases no one would need that much resources for their sites.
