People are familiar with using a web hosting account but nowadays, the hosting accounts offer a lot of new and complex features and panels so it would be a good idea to have a getting started guide.

Part of that guide should include the terms of hosting and what things like overselling and unlimited and such like that really mean. I think it would be very helpful for people just getting into it to know what to look for, what they need, etc.

Like sunken said, a guide explaining overselling and it's pros and cons would be excellent. I know overselling does have it's advantages, but like everything else in hosting, it can also have it's disadvantages. It all depends on what the user really needs. If the user is just playing around with a website, the oversellers are perfect, but if you need flexibility with resources among other things, then you don't really need an overseller.

I agree that it should include the common terms that are used in hosting and what their real meanings are. Like, a web hosting provider might offer 500GB of bandwidth per month but the customer should be aware that he cannot used that 500GB at a single point of time and there are some conditions that are applied.

I think a FAQ about common problems. it might save lot of time which would waste on newbies also everyone always has to learn something .
