.INFO’s are usually associated with websites that provide some kinda information. Whereas a .COM is a universal TLD.

The only advantage that .INFO has over .COM is that its way cheaper (Godaddy sells it for as low as $1) and you may find pretty good .INFO Domains as compared to .COM … On the other hand it is not as popular as a .COM.

As the name itself suggests, .info are for sites giving out information while .com should be used for commercial activities....but then people always prefer to use .com since it has a very good recall value.

    Nice topic

Personally .com wins every time for me. The only 2 extensions I ever use are .com or .co.uk.

As people become more familiar with the web and as new TLDs are released semantic meaning between the domain and the TLD will become increasingly important for brandingFrom a search engine point of view gTLD doesn't make a difference. If the site brands better on .info then that would be the logical way to go. There are more .com sites so people tend to "assume" .com does better in search, but that is not the case, it is .com is older and there are more sites.

com is highly popular and gives you a competitive edge over other domains such as, .info, .net and .org. You can use .info if you are targeting small number of audiences.

.info domains are popular but has low importance in comparison to .com domain names that is why .info domains are in promotion most of the time you get it for 0.99$ at Godaddy but .info sites are for low budget projects and quick sale sites.

It has always been .com and i guess it will still be .com the major Domain extension for a long time to come...

Yes ofcourse, everyone's expecting a saturation and sooner or later it will come along..

.info is a "noob" domain name in my eyes. Remember a few years ago when they gave those out for free? Unlimited free .infos! LOL!

They're a joke in the domain world, and usually will not sell for more than your registration fee, usually less.

So if you can get a .com yes, go for it. People don't like to agree with it but names are important!
