    Default Google Pagerank question?

When google assesses your page rank does it take links in other search engines in to account or only the links that are in google.

    For example.

In google I only have 5 backlinks.

    But...

In Yahoo I have 1300 backlinks - would google take these links in to consideration?

I am not sure but since google gives page rank I assume that google will look at backlinks which are available when googlebot crawls. Try getting your site on few page rank sites, this will definately improve your ranking in long run.

It depends on the quality of the backlink you are getting and if it's related niche then it's highly suitable.

If you buy links you want more 'PR JUICE' and opt for 'higher PR'. This generally holds water for web sites higher than a PR 6. however, anything lower and you're shooting blanks. Reciprocal linking schemes based on PR are also flawed strategies.

    hi,
simple thing is that if google crawler is not reach at your inbound links then how it will consider as backlink and logic is behind that both bot are working independently..

I think its Google page rank, it ranks based on the backlink what it has in its database so it doesn't consider what present in Yahoo's database.

you need quality backlinks for a high pr. But google says that pr is not a very important factor. The removed it from webmaster tools to. I think this is because they don't like artificial link building, but they cant prohibit it...

I have a related question similar to the original inquiry. Are the links we find with google the backlinks that it uses when evaluating our page rank?
