Default Free Hosting Company I'm using

I've tried a couple of free web hosting companies, most of them have files size/format restriction, then, i finally find this one and i'm happy so far- www.frihost.org

    Frihost free web hosting features

    * 250 Mb of space for your entire collection of websites.
    * 10 GB of traffic each and every month.
    * 1 short free subdomain to be reachable in the whole world (you.frih.net).
    * Php and Perl scripting languages to fulfill all your programming needs.
    * The DirectAdmin control panel to manage your web hosting account.
    * No forced advertisements. Your own ads like google adsense are allowed.
    * Unlimited MySQL databases for all your data.
    * Unlimited subdomains and ftp accounts of all your domains.
    * Unlimited email accounts for your correspondence.
    * Unlimited parked and addon domains for your whole portfolio of websites.
    * Great community forums of over 500,000 posts and over 25,000 members to get support from.

The only thing you need to do before requesting a free hosting account is to post 5 posts in their forum, also, you need to remain active in their forum in order to keep that account. But I find it quite easy to do since their forum includes all sort of topics, you could talk about almost anything there, so, ENJOY!

yes, it is totally free, all you have to do is to post in their forum, when you post enough (i think it just take me 10 posts) but quality posts though, they would send you the hosting details automatically
    hope that helps, thanks!

I don't think that post in our forums to get a web hosting plan is a totally free offer as you mentioned. I have a sad story with trap17, exphoster and so on.

they usually go out of business and make you lose what you built, or you just lose your time posting in their forums and nothing will happened.

I don't think that all free web hosting would go out of business. However, it is important to beware of those scams. Of course, to be safe, it is also recommended to get paid hosting rather than free hosting..

I have used frihost.com for more than 2 years now and haven't had a problem. I think they are one of the most reliable free hosting providers you can find. Just like a paid hosting provider. Since I use both paid and free hosting in various places i can tell this guys are good just like paid hosting.

It seems to offer a decent amount of bandwidth for free hosting!

    Hello
The best things in life may be free, but great web hosting service is not one of them.

You may have seen free hosting companies in your search for a new hosting provider. Generally, the emphasis is placed on the price you will pay (nothing) rather than the account features you will receive.

Nearly all free web hosting providers will give you a limited amount of storage space and bandwidth. They will also prevent the upload and storage of certain file types, such as MP3 and MPEG. There is also no uptime guarantee with your site and you will not be able to use you own domain name as the URL.

So how do free hosting companies stay afloat? One word: advertising.

In exchange for your free hosting account, you will have advertisements placed on your site. These advertisements support your free hosting provider and give them a source of income. The advertising is not very targeted and can also be intrusive on the browsing experience (pop up and pop-under ads).

While free hosting may be great if you just want to write a small blog, it is not ideal (or even logical) to use a free
hosting account to run an online business or feature rich website. You can find many web hosting providers who have affordable prices without sacrificing performance or reliability.
