Well you can't determine how many backlinks exactly are needed for a pr6 but if you have a pr8 backlink you might get a pr6 because if you have a high pr back link then you minus it by 2 and this may be your approximate page rank so try to get a pr8 link for pr6.

there is no way to calculate exactly your expected PR.
just build up your backlinks, make them as relevant as possible and pray to the google god to raise your PR.
anyways, you do you bother so much about PR, as more and more people lose interest in itMauritius bungalows | Lonely planet Mauritius

There's no way for you to measure how many backlinks needed to go from PR 4 -6. Sometimes it's not the quantity of backlinks but also what determines is the quality as well such as how relevant the link is to your website. You can have 10000backlinks that is not related to your site, but it is EVEN better to have 1000 backlinks all related to your niche.

Not really something anyone can answer. It is like asking: "how much do I have to eat to grow 1 inch?". The good thing about Google Page Rank is that you can grow whenever you want if you work hard and get links.

Agree with you, page rank is not depends on any work and no one can give exact answer of it. If you want good PR please do some link building with high PR sites.
