The first global stock exchange dealing in domain names is launched today in conjunction with one of the largest industry auctions of 2008.

Fusu, which will provide those within the industry a trading platform in the same way as a traditional stock exchange, will premiere at the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. conference - which will be listing a host of generic domain names valued at a total of nearly $1.5 million.

Commenting on the launch, Fusu beta tester and spokesman William Brister said the time was right for a service that would aid address owners, including those with generic domain names, in obtaining liquidity and allowing for investment.

"Fusu will bring necessary exposure to the particular values of premium domain names and therefore increase the overall value of the domain industry," he said.

Some of the generic domains on offer at the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. event in Las Vegas include OnlineFinancing.com, KosherRestaurants.com, AutoRefinancing.com, Dance.com and DVDs.com.
