Which one is the best distros for Linux server.

I am now using both redhat and suse server and both work fine to me. The reasons why I choose both are I’m still relying on GUI and not good enough on shell command. How about you?

I personally think that CentOS and ubuntu are the best for running apache based webservers, that's what mine run on, and, also, my pc is running Ubuntu :P

only disadvantage with debian is that cpanel can't work their.

CentOS, Fedora, or Ubuntu. I have installedUbuntu and Apache is working awesome with PHP and MySQL.

Like most companies, my employer has a stash of old, "obsolete" PCs and laptops that won't run the latest versions of Windows worth a darn. Naturally, this represents a great source of systems for testing the latest Linux distributions.

I thought it would be interesting to find out which modern Linux distro made the best OS for a supposedly "obsolete" old laptop. With this in mind, I requisitioned an oldie but goodie: an IBM ThinkPad 2662-35U (pictured here), with a Pentium III 600MHz processor, 192MB of SDRAM, and a 20GB hard drive.

I would EASILY reccomend Gentoo.. incredible features... I'm currently dual booting that on my PowerEdge 420. next onees i'd reccomend (in order)

debian (apt-get is nice)
vector (slackware based)

but yeah all in all I'd reccomend Gentoo over anything else.

Mine would be redhat, it's been out for a while now but I still find the interface very easy to use and to manage.

I also comfortable to do work with redhat. It is so robust and never dissapoint me. Only there was a few drivers which somehow hard to find, but overall it is the best Distro for me.
