hosting proxies

you guys thing hosting proxies on a shared environment is a bad idea? why?

It's better to have VPS or semi-dedi at least.

its nearly impossible to run a popular proxy even on a semi-dedi you should definitely get a fully dedicated server so you can abuse it in anyway you want

Yeah, it's definitely a bad idea to have proxy sites on a shared hosting server. This reseller hosting I was on actually allowed proxies on the same server I had my site on. This really affected my hosting so I was glad to move. Proxies should have their own dedicated server.

Proxies use too many resources to be on a shared hosting account. Some hosts will throttle your account, if your traffic is high, to protect the others on the server.

I would not run a proxy unless I had a dedicated server.

you could also host yourself by buying not renting but buying a server so its completely yours and your only limit would be your hardrive

Well it's pretty hard to find a cheap dedicated proxy host but I plan to host my proxy with these guys aqns-hosting.com since their rates are pretty competitive.

I agree with your opinions ... Good and cheap proxy is hard to find.. and if you find it post it here... because in mp3 link i didnt find very good proxies...
