Basics to SEO...

Though I managed several websites, I am pretty new to Seach Engine Optimization. Can someone please give me a start on the various type of optimization I can do for my websites?

Proper meta tags, keywords and get as many backlinks.

one way backlinks (sites linking to you and you're not linking back to them) is the way to go. It's gonna be hard to look for those kinds though, so link exchanges might also work.

and it would be better if the anchor words would be your keywords.

remember to read seo forums too. (especially if you don't know any of the terms written above)
