Check out http://opensourcecms.com/ for a collection of open source CMS's. The site also has demos off all the CMS's.

I would add etomite. Excellent for those who still want to design a layout from the scratch but still use a CMS.

I have 2 examples (stil in development): www.nipponbudosport.ro and www.dojowebhosting.com

The good thing is that you can design a layout, code and then add it as a new template. Put the chunks and snippets the main site uses into it and you have a nice CMS looking quite unique.

I tried a lot of other solutions: Nuke, Mambo (the new one, Joomla), e107 and so on, but this is the only script giving me full freedom to create the layout.
