geocities

geocities is the best free webhost, it doesnt use frames that makes the site not reachable by Search engines

lol...geocities is a lousy one..so many ads on the page..

lol...not "so" many - TOO many..

besides... they are pretty slow, dont offer alot or enough space and are constantly down...

I am also not a big fan of geocities and there ads.

yeah, geocities.. has a lot of ads, i agree with that, low web space.. it sucks!, thats why i buy my own webhost at http://www.yyzdomains.com

Anyway, infairness, geocities holds my previous websites , and until now am using my geocities.com account serve as a backlink for my site..

For me geocities is the most reliable FREE webhosting because Yahoo owns it, hope you know what i mean.

You can find lot of sites that offer PHP/MsyqL, PERL, ASP. etc.. but after few months and years they will drop your sites.. sometimes they sell their domain name.. or they need payments.

Some free webhosting sites like Lycos, Hotbot, etc.. is using Iframes which makes site not reachable by SE.

geocities slows down my computer. it has too many ads. i use to like it but not no more.

I had been using Geocities before. They are not bad for a free host. But I have found a better way. Go with a low cost web hosting (like $3/month) and then add Google AdSense. If you have a decent site, then you might find that your AdSense revenue will more than pay for the hosting cost. Now you can place the ads any way you like. And if you see an Google ad appear that you do not like, you can "ban" it from showing up on your site.
