Do you prefer liquid layouts or fixed width layouts for the pages you design?

or does it depends upon the situation

i prefer to use liquid layouts wherever it is possible, as then i don't have to think so much about compatiibility on different resolutions, but i also use fixed width where it is more practical

I have a mixed answer here (as always ).

I have some pages I used a loquid layout, but I find myself using fixed layouts lately. It's better from my design perspective since I can control the design as I wish. I create my designs in Photoshop and the layouts are usualy graphics loaded. I have to use fixed sometimes to prevent the pages from stretchin weird and destroying my idea of design.
