.net and .org are the next best domain extensions to .com. But I think .info is already making its way in the market.

I'm not sure what best means here. When it comes to its generic impact, I would choose .net . It seems this TLD is appropriate for both commercial and non commercial sites.

yea .net is right, but there are people that will pass the .com and go straight to .net just because it looks or sounds better

.Net is definitely the best extension after .com and then come .org extension.

Personally I consider net and com to be about equal. The type of site might influence it a bit one way or the other.
The reality is that if the majority of people are going to find you via a post, link or search engine the extension makes no difference. It is only when you are going for recall with verbal communication that it matters.

I'm going to go on a different tangent here than everyone else and say the next best domain would be your local extension.
If you think about it you are best placed to know what will work in your country. |

.NET but it all depends on the type of site. If it were for a school, .edu would be the best, for an organization , .org and so on.
For undeveloped sites, and you were just selling the domain, then .net would be the best. But for developed sites I'd follow the guidelines I mentioned above. |
