Dedicated server.
When is it time to switch to a dedicated server? Someone said when your forum has 100 people on at once. I'm getting more downtime than before though. Should I switch?

you'll be switching to dedicated server.. after only having 100 people on the forum.. its foolishness. If it was thousands then I would recommend to go for dedicated server. But for only 100 users.. you need more bandwidths.. if it exceeds or near to exceed.

A shared server should be able to carry 100 people easy. Maybe you should think about changing hosts if you continue to have problems.

I think www.mamangemybox.com, or www.tektonic.net, both offer dedicated servers or VPS's and are a good start.

You have to think twice before rent a dedy because a server is not cheap, and you need some lunux skills to manage that

You can get a small VPS for under $15. That's a good first step up.

Get a reliable VPS solution, no need to spend $$$ on servers, It will just be a waste of resource and money.
