For books I think Amazon might be the best. For most other stuff I would say Ebay or your own site.

I dont think you can go past ebay anymore, since it has been getting so much atention via its advertising I think the majoriuty of people will always check ebay first for items.

Ebay is obviously best place to sell your stuff. Even if it your used Ipod or your antique vase or even a domain name. You'll get a large amount of audience who are interested in your products. Go with ebay.

I think creating and advertising your site is the best way. If you have a niche, this is especially true. You can suppliment your site by also selling some of your products at Ebay and having a link back to your site.

I think it really depends on what your selling. A combination of Ebay & smaller sites that're related to what your selling could work well. Such as putting something up on ebay, and then spreading it around to said related sites. Not saying to spam, of course.
However, sometimes it is better to just sell whatever you've got on a 'niche' marketplace site. A example would be to sell anything homemade that you've got on Etsy.com, instead of exclusely on Ebay.

I've sold things on eBay, half.com and amazon. It just depends on the product. I sell books on half.com an amazon, but I find that they sell quicker on amazon. More people know about them than half.com. I wouldn't try to sell books on ebay, but other products I would- like cell phones, clothing.. It just depends on what it is.

I agree it all depends on which product you are selling, and how much you believe costumer might me interested in.
For selling book, no doubt amazon is the right place, when ever I look for book amazon is the place, next it turn to barnes n noble. Regarding..Ebay, my initial experience was rather dull, and few of my bid went unnoticed, due to lack of any positive feedback Small selling site some times do good as well, you also save you listing price as well ![]() So the best option is combination of all the three!! |

It depends on your needs; If you want to sell books then amazon is the best, for the other goods e bay is even better;
In my university all the students buy books from amazon and I do not think they even have a serious opponent;However their afiiliate program sucks , but anyway they are too famous too need an affiliate anymore. |

Most people are using ebay. If your market is more localized its better to use your country's local online auction site.
