Google is getting rid of the pagerank system, according to many members at namepros.com, and sitepoint.com. They have said that google will come out with a new system that will be harder for users to exploit. This has not yet been officially confirmed by google yet, however we all knew that it was bound to come soon. For more information, visit http://www.sitepoint.com or http://www.namepros.com/

PageRank will remain to be used but only for Google to make some internal calculations. It does not directly affect the rankings any more and yo can find so many top ranking websites which have very low or even zero PR but are outperforming PR 5 and 6 sites.

Page rank is an indicator. In a way it is indicative of the number of quality backlinks a web page has.
Now when PR is removed from users' observation, is it going to affect the SERPs of those sites that had good backlinks? I believe it shouldn't because PR does not make the site gets traffic. If site has backlinks it gets traffic. Then google indicates that as a number (PR). If Google does not indicate that number then it hides it. I think it is as simple as that. Even otherwise we can still figure out based the traffic statistics of our website. Google cannot hide that right,, ? |
