A Step-By-Step But Time-Consuming Way to Make $$ on the Net

Here's an easy step-by-step way to make money through your own website, adsense and affiliate programs but will definitely take some hard work and time.

1)Pick a niche that has lots of people spending money in it already. Don't pick something too general. For example, don't pick "diet", but "raw food diet".

2)Use a keyword tool to identify lots of keywords pertaining to the niche (if don't have commercial keyword tool, use the free google keywords tool at https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal - I have many paid keyword tools, but the free google keywords tool is still my favorite. Only pick keywords that actually pertain to your niche.

3)Then, enter each of the keywords in step 2 into the google keyword tool again, to turn up more detailed keywords - again, only save keywords that
are relevant to your topic.

4)Now that you have a list of relevant keywords, things start to get interesting. For each keyword, find out how many times it's searched for by search engine users every day / month. Here's a free tool you can use -

For example, "raw food diet recipe" gets searched 33+ times a day.

5)Then, for each keyword, find out how many results are in google for that keyword. Type each keyword phrase in quotes. For example, I would type a keyword into google search like this:
"raw food diet recipe"
I just checked this in google and there are only 5070 search results for this term!

6)Next we identify keywords that you can most easily rank high in google for. Now that you have a bunch of keywords, how many times they are searched for, and how many results are in google, you can pick the ones with high search frequency and low number of results in google. Try to pick keywords that have less than 10,000 results in google. This small list will be your gems.

7)Take these gem keywords, and write an article for each of them - do some research online if you have to, to gather info to write these. Write writing these articles, be sure to include the keyword phrase in the title of the article, at the very start of the article, and at the very end of the article, then sprinkle the keyword inside the article as well. 2-5% keyword density should be fine (for example, for a 500 word article, the keyword phrase should be included at least 10 times, or 2%).

8)Register a domain name with your niche keyphrase in the name. Make a website using the articles you wrote, one per page. For each web page, include the main keyword phrase in the meta tags. Do good on-page SEO (if you don't have it yet, download Brad Callen's free SEO book), but don't spend too much time overdoing it. Put some RSS feeds that are related to your niche, on each page so your content will change from time to time which will help your pages rank better. Also put adsense ads on each page.

9)Rewrite your articles by changing wording, replacing words with synonyms and switching word orders etc. and submit the rewritten articles to ezinearticles.com. In the bio box at the bottom of each article, include a link back to your site, for example: "For more articles on [your niche] go to http://www.mynichesite.com" (The reason why you need to rewrite the articles is because you don't want google to see duplicate content; you don't have to rewrite them, but it would be better.)

10)Submit the URL of your site, as well as the URL of each page of your site, to social bookmarking sites. Don't submit too many every day or google will know you're spamming. Submit 10 a day and keep it up.

11)Submit the site's homepage URL to as many directories as you can find. I've attached a list of directories to this post for your to download.

12)Submit homepage to yahoo and msn via these links:

13)Set-up squidoo lenses for each article, using the keyword phrase as the title. Again, rewrite the original articles and use that as squidoo lens content.

14)Wait a week or two to see some of your website's pages rank 1st page in google for the keyword phrases you targetted. This is because you picked keywords that have relatively little competition (i.e. few google results), optimized on-page SEO, and created powerful backlinks from high PR websites.

Later you could expand by doing the following:
-use other methods to build more backlinks to your site (for example post comments in blogger blogs that are relevant to your niche, with backlinks to your site; there are hundreds of other methods to build backlinks)
-put affiliate banners / ads on your pages (this can pay better than adsense!)

More advanced tactics:
-sign up for aweber's autoresponder service and put an opt-in form on the border of every page on your site; load up some messages to provide more info on your niche and promote relevant products using your affiliate links
-right after a visitor fills in the opt-in form, direct them to a "one-time offer" to make some money upfront, before you sell backend products via autoresponder messages
-learn adwords and direct traffic to your site
-once in a while, add more pages to your site and/or rewrite the content, and build more backlinks to your site, to keep your pages ranking well

Invest in the following tools once you have money coming in:

Adword Analyzer - this tool will help you search for keywords AND tell you how many searches each keywords gets per month, and how many results there are for each keyword in google - this will speed up steps 3-6 drastically! (hint: affiliate program at clickbank)

Ultra Bookmarker - this tool will submit bookmarks to social bookmarking sites automatically (hint: affiliate program at paydotcom)


I've just started using this method but am already seeing results. I'll probably keep setting up these cash machines at the rate of 2-3 sites a month. I may provide an update at a later date on my progress. Hope this will help someone make some money!

http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/gtrends/ is very nice. You can type it in without the gtrends subdir on the end, but this version has a few additional nice features.
