Feel free to share your negative stories with the PayPal support staff. They're probably the worst of any online firm, and I'm sure everyone here has had many bad experiences.
My example is when I signed up for a hosting plan with some company, and it ended up to be a real scam. When I issued a chargeback and gave the jurisdiction to PayPal to decide, they decided in favor of the scam host simply because I filed the chargeback in the wrong category. |

I agree that their online support is terrible. They just take way too long to respond and often times don't even address the issue you emailed about. I have had better success in calling in and that way I will get a fast direct response from them although often times I get the response I don't want to hear.

They are very messy to deal with. I've heard a lot of horror stories and have had a few myself. Have had scams pulled on me and as was said above, they wound up taking the money anyway even though we were the ones scammed.

The best way to get good support from them is by making a call to them. The email support isn't that good. Also when they ask you to send any documents regarding your Credit Card billing, the best way is to fax them those documents and making a call right after that. You can't rely on their email support.
And the thing that "they decided in favor of the scam host just because you filed the charge back in the wrong category" really sucks. Did they mention that in the support email?? I heard a lot of fraud chargebacks and genuine people facing problems because of them. PayPal isn't really nice in that.

I got so pissed when ma ccount was limited then had 2 send so many mails to tehri customer support and wat i got was automated mails to send docs and make a contact @ the service centrer at last ma account was delimited....

My experience with the paypal support team was a bit funny.I used to use an unverified paypal account and one day I received an email from them stating my account getting limited and to remove it i was required to submit some legal papers of mine.I submitted all the papers they asked me for but nothing happened,so i emailed them a lot of times,but the result is the same.
One of my close buddy said that rather sending them emails i should better call them and ask about the delay as Paypal online support(email) is very poor because they hardly reply issues like this.So i just called paypal and talked with a customer support employee and discussed about my case and the delay in removing my accounts limitation.From the other side he just said:"we are very busy these days sir,so just missed to study your case,don't worry your limitations will be removed soon after we review your submitted documents,he also laughed slowly and put the phone down. And then after 5 days I got my limitations removed from my account. I can only say that please do not email them as they are not gonna respond or care about it,better call them and discuss your problems as their online support team(email based) is horrible.

if ur account is limted then just upload the docs and fax tehm teh docs to teh fax no they lll delimit ur acount within half n hr....trust me on tht ...

Their support usually rakes a while to get back to you, that something paypal should definitely improve.
