Is it that much value to buy a PR ranked domain? I think it probably would be for the traffic, but I've found that PR and traffic don't always match. Also without the site, wouldn't it die out?

I also agree with you that its not always that pr which brings traffic to any site but only the content. As they say content is the king. I have seen many 0 pagerank sites listed in the top 10 lists in many keywords.

To me, I prefer to buy fresh domain and then build up the PR. It's more fun this way and you don't have to spend much. After all, it's also more challenging and exciting.

If you are getting a nice deal then i would say go with the PR domain instead of a new one. It will be easy to get this domain ranked in SERP.
Also make sure PR is not fake and website is not banned by google before. |

Buying a PR domain is worthless unless you buy the whole site with whole pages and linkings.
