Shoutserv.com fraud

I had an account with them too (but it was through a reseller). They went offline for a couple of weeks. They weren't replying to any of their clients because there were just too many complaints. But then they eventually went online for about 2-3 days and I was able to backup the files I had with them. Thank goodness, 'coz I thought all my hard work went into the drain!

I don't think their intention was to steal/cheat people. I just think that they lack experience and knowledge in dealing with servers, so it was probably the overselling that killed their servers. Not replying to their e-mails pretty much killed their business, and unhappy user reviews pretty much killed their reputation.

A lot of people who start web hosting companies don't realize what's really involved. It requires strong customer support, financial backing, knowledge of servers, and such. It's very easy to get bogged down in chaos. I'm not defending them, just mentioning this as it's important to be sure of the company's business practices and longevity over price when purchasing hosting.
