Absolutely Debian, Centos or Fedora but I always choose Debian for my servers.
For Cpanel servers naturally I advice Centos.

Personally, I think that CentOS and Ubuntu are the best in the Apache Web-Based Management, focusing on the mines and my pc runs Ubuntu

Centos or debian, I've found Centos better supported in the industry so that's what I use on production & development servers.

The answer to your question depends on the purpose of the server. Not all distros equally effectively serve every purpose by default. I would like to link to a very good article that I at one point read regarding this matter but can not seem to find it now.
