I have tried both hostgator and godaddy and my hat goes off to hostgator. Never liked godaddy as a domain registrar and I don't like their hosting either.

I have used both, for different purposes. HostGator I find to be better in terms of hosting (hands down). I have been with GoDaddy for all my domain names for ages. I've never used GoDaddy hosting but I can tell you that both companies provide unparalleled service. I would trust GoDaddy with hosting anytime due to their awesome domain name service.

I never used hostgator so my voting will surely go for godaddy and i think so it's most widely used in dealing for domaining business so Godaddy will get lots more votes than hostgator. You should have started a poll about this

I haven't used Hostgator but use Godaddy hosting for my forums. They give you lot of features and resource and great uptime too. I haven't found anywhere else which as Godaddy shared hosting for a forum with tight budget.

Both Hostgator and Godaddy are good. It depends on your website requirement which one to choose between these two.
