Default Detecting illegal scripts?

I have a reseller account from which I give shared hosting to a few of my friends.
How do I detect whether he is using a pirated script or not?
How do I detect nulled vbulletin and IPB scripts?

Please help.

Sometimes you cannot tell, Only the vendor can verify if they have a license.

However, some scripts in the admin control panel will have a null message by the pirate.

Sometimes there is a nulled message on the bottom of the forum.

Check his forum files for some out of place files - nulling files etc

Default Detecting illegal scripts?

I'm trying to validate a user's desired username for a registration page. I want to detect any illegal characters being used for a username. So far i have managed to include most execpt the '\', the '\' is used for escape and treating the preceding characters literally. I try to do '\\' but i get an error because it execects another character.

It's really hard to detect it and I don't think there are effective automated softwares that do this. Best way is to check each one manually but it will be very time consuming.
