Google Adsense tricks

Okay, first of all I’m not a professionnal, I’m just a guy who is testing different Adsense techniques and who is trying to see what is working and what’s not.

1- Don’t make it look like ads
When you’re in a website and see a big colorful ad, do you click on it? …no. Your visitors don’t want to click on ads like that neither. So you wanna make your ads look like it’s part of your site content. Make the title the same colour as your website’s links. Make the background and the borders the same colours as your website’s too.

Here are some examples of what’s hot and what’s not:




2- Text ads only
I guess it depends on the site, but on my own experience with my own websites, users click more on the text ads.

3- Forum integrations
Over the past few months, I tried several integrations on IPB Customize and what I can tell is that text ads at the very bottom of the first post (you can do it with PHP or with HTML Logic for Invision Power Board), one below the first post (Adsense Bot 1.1.4 module for Invision Power Board users) and one at the very top of the board seems to be working just fine.

4- The rules
Just read the rules, don’t click on your own ads and do not ask people to do it.

I agree with the poster. I works great.
If you have a lot of pictures then use banners. Otherwise, use links for less image contents.
