Default Adsense design

Throughout the history of advertising, there has always been the question. Blending or contrasting? Should my ads blend into my website, or should they stand out? Which method has worked for you in the past? I am not sure what to do.

I think it depends from your sites category and style.
If you have video or flash game site maybe try contrasting.
Just need to experimentalize

yeah..agreed with skrachs..
everything need to be experimentalize before we could come out with the result.
i'd say blending the ads if you are into blogging or site with a lot of writing in it.

I have tried many different adsense shapes, sizes and colors, and based on my experience I can say that blending is usually the best solution.

Yep, here is what I suggest you do.

Make it the normal Adsense design for 1 week
Make it a color that blends in with your site for 1 week
Make it a color that stands out on your site for 1 week

Compare the results and see which worked the best.

I agree with skrachs and W00tbeer1 opinion. We could try and error at the beginning. Then, use the best result. Or you could create 2 different sites. 1 using blending ads and 1 by contrast ads.

W00tbeer1 has a great point. It's all about experimenting. I would suggest you to play with positioning, color, and blendness. Users do not want to be overexposed to ads, but if the content is good and ad is in the right place, you will definitely see clicks.

I blended my adsense ads to my black colored blogger blog, i was earning not more than one cent per click, when i turned them into default white color i started earning few cents per click. I think we should not change the default white color ads.
